Regarding the Aberdeen Road I have to observe that I induced Sir J. Bouring to agree to a sale of Farm Lots at Pokfolum Aberdeen Road in June 1856 and that those have not been improved (with one recent exception) in consequence of the want of a proper carriage way.
The Docks nearly finished at Aberdeen furnish an additional and peremptory cause for a suitable means of passage; I trust therefore that this Road will be constructed forthwith, and also a Police Station built at Pokfoolum.

The other works are such as are ordinarily called for, but I have thought it right, as to the above 4 works for which £11,587 is proposed, to place before His Excellency the facts within my knowledge, so as to show that this expenditure has been long due, and is now peremptorily called for.
Again, as concerns the large sum of £9062.10
